Why does care depend on the article?
An Acunic wall, ceiling or curtain is chosen for its relief and its colour, and the right care keeps both looking as they should. Each fabric's Getzner datasheet has its own care line, and the difference that matters most is whether the fabric can be washed.

The Technical Product Summary lists Cubic Giga Dyed as non-washable too. The rest of the care line is the same on every datasheet: wear white cotton gloves when fitting the fabric, remove surface dirt by carefully patting or vacuuming, and carefully pat the fabric with a damp cloth to remove dirt, without rubbing. Each fabric page carries its datasheet, for example Cubic Giga and Optic Braid.
How do you remove dust and surface dirt?
Pat the fabric carefully, or vacuum it, wherever it is installed. This is the routine care for every Acunic fabric, washable or not, and it can be done in place on a wall, a ceiling sail or a curtain. Work gently: the datasheets say "carefully" for both patting and vacuuming.
How do you treat a mark or spill?
Pat the mark carefully with a damp cloth, and do not rub. Ask AKA Acoustics before using any solvent or cleaning product.
Can curtains be cleaned while they hang?
Yes, for dust and marks. Patting or vacuuming a curtain where it hangs, and patting dirt off with a damp cloth, is the care every datasheet gives, so a curtain does not need to come down for routine cleaning.
Washing is different, and it depends on the fabric. Getzner makes its acunic curtain in Accentric Crash and Optic Structure, and both datasheets allow a 40 °C delicates cycle, so those curtains can be taken down and washed; the curtains page describes them. The Cubic datasheets also list curtains among the fabric's uses, and a curtain in Cubic Pico, Cubic Giga or Cubic Mega is non-washable and is cleaned in place. How do you clean a fabric wall panel?
Clean it in place, the same way: pat or vacuum the surface carefully, and pat dirt off with a damp cloth. Fabric stretched over a frame is part of the panel, so ask AKA Acoustics before taking it off a frame for any other cleaning. How do you wash the washable fabrics?
Wash them on a 40 °C delicates cycle, as the datasheets give. Getzner's acoustic system pages on acunic.at add "wash with similar colours" and "do not dry clean", and its sustainability page also advises avoiding bleach, fabric softener and dry cleaning. Ask AKA Acoustics before any dry cleaning.
Those system pages print one care line, a 40 °C gentle wash, including for the acunic frame, which Getzner offers in every fabric of the collection. The datasheet care text for the article governs, and for Cubic Pico, Cubic Giga and Cubic Mega it is non-washable.
How should fabric be handled when it is fitted?
Wear white cotton gloves when fitting the fabric, as every datasheet asks, and seal cut edges with heated fabric edging scissors. Write both into the installation clause; how to specify an architectural fabric shows the wording, with the care text for the maintenance manual.
Does cleaning affect fire performance?
Every Acunic fabric is woven from Trevira CS polyester. Indorama Ventures, which makes Trevira CS, states that the flame retardancy is built into the fibre, using an organophosphorus compound as a comonomer, and cannot be lost through frequent washing or use. How often should architectural fabric be cleaned?
Set a cleaning interval in the maintenance manual to suit how the space is used, and record against each location the article installed and its care line, so whoever cleans it knows whether it can be washed.
